If you are buying these pieces to wear, they must be worn carefully, please keep in mind that they are 80 to 100 or more years old. Most of the items are all in
good condition but please read the descriptions carefully for listed flaws. I cannot guarantee the wearability of older
garments like these. I cannot predict how long they will hold up with
wear. I think that most of the pieces are better for display.
#VIC-278- White Cotton Split Crotch Bloomers w/Overlapping Front - $40.00
Era - 1900s Measurements - 25 inches long, fits 25 inch waist, full hips Label - none Fabric - cotton Cleaning - Has been soaked in Biz and a little bleach, hung to dry.
White cotton split crotch bloomers with pink ribbon and wide trim around the legs.
These bloomers have crotch split to the waist on the front and the back, but the previous wearer has overlapped the front with a button and snap. Waist could be made several inches bigger
by moving the button and snap too. The legs have a very wide ruffle of cotton with amazing floral embroidery and eyelet - all hand made. Newer ribbon has been run through the legs at some time.
Condition - Excellent condition, nice and bright white. Just a little wear.
Measurements - 32 inches long, fits 25 inch waist, full hips Fabric - cotton velvet
Mystery skirt, It is definately older, like
pre-1920s, and has been altered at some point. It is a brown cotton velvet. The waist has been gathered by hand and stitched onto a older white cotton waistband lining that has short strips of boning
in it. The skirt closes with two hooks on the side of the waist with a few snaps below them. The fake pockets have been handstitched on the front with a decorative button on each. The skirt
is unlined except for some brown cotton handstitched around the inner 6 inches of the hem.
Condition - Very good condition. It has some blemmishes in the velvet and some light colored dirty spots. The white cotton lining the waist is aged and dingy and so is the fabric
lining the hem. Still a very nice wearable piece.
Era - late 1800s Measurements - fits 21 inch head Label - none Fabric - velvet with fur trim and cotton lining.
Dark brown plush velvet bonnet with dark brown fur (rabbit?) around the front. Has wool flatbraid ties
and cotton and sateen lining. Sateen piping on the velvet.
Condition - Very good condition. Lining is a little dirty. There is a 3 inch tear along edge of the fur on the front/bottom. Ends of ties are frayed.
#VIC-59- White Cotton Jabot w/Crochet Trim - $15.00
Era - early 1900s Measurements - 2 inches wide at top, 10 inches long
Fabric - cotton
Sweet jabot that you would pin to the front of the neckline of a blouse or dress. Two layers, each with embroidered dots and flowers. Pretty crochet lace. All hand made.
#VIC-312- Brown Cotton Winter Petticoat without Waist - $40.00
Era - mid 1800s Measurements - 33 inches long, 92 inches around Label - none Fabric - cotton Cleaning - This item has not been cleaned due to it's age.
This is a winter petticoat that's waistband has been removed. So it's a large square sewn on each end with partial opening.
It's an amzing piece, home sewn with hand done quilting over the whole piece. The outside of this fabric feels like a silk, but I can't believe silk would have held up for so long on a petticoat, so it must be some sort of silk cotton. It is all hand quilted and has
black cut edge felt trim on the hem. It has a fleecey wool layer, lined on the inside with two types of brown cotton calico and a solid brown cotton.
Condition - The outside of the petticoat is in very good condition, just some 1-2 inch spots of fading, but the fabric seems strong. Inside the solid brown cotton is worn away in large areas exposing some of the fleece lining and the back of the outside layer.
This wear is in the brown piece which is around the lower 10 inches of the lining. Alot of it is worn away. The two brown prints are good, some light wear and large areas of light fading.
#VIC-313- AS-IS Brown Silk Altered Victorian Dress - $40.00
Era - 1800s Measurements - 58 inches long, fits about 34 inch bust, 26 waist Label - none Fabric - silk and cotton Cleaning - This item has not been cleaned due to it's age.
Another piece that was used in a theater. Looks like they stitched a bodice and a skirt together at the waist, then cut opn the back and added
a tie at the back of the waist for quick costume change. The lace ruffle on the front has also been added and some of it is missing. Lined in brown cotton
Condition - Fair condition. The sewing together at the waist is coming undone. Of course as I mentioned above, it was opened all the way down the back. There has been alot of repairs from the inside of the bodice with iron-in fusable fabric.
Staining and shattering under the arms. The front of the bodice has been altered sloppily on the neck and under the lace trim, which is falling off. The cotton lining is shattering throughout the whole piece. The outside of the skirt actually looks better than the bodice, has some aging/dirt and some spots.
#VIC-264- Black Silk Purse Thingy - $12.00
Era - late 1800s Measurements - 11 x 7 inches Label - none, hand made Fabric - silk
I don't know what this is, I've had sitting around here for the longest time. I don't know if it was part of a dress or a handmade purse.
It is definately pre-1920s black silk. The front is rayon cording crochet onto metal rings. The back is silk faille which feels like it has cardboard inside for support. It is like a small pouch that you could put things into it. If a lady
were to carry it like a purse, I guess she would just hold the point in her hand and not hang it off her wrist, because that would be awkward.
Condition - Very good condition. Some wear to the silk on the front and the back. The lining is spliiting inside along the top.
Era - pre 1920s Measurements - 7-1/2 x 9-1/2 inches
Label - none Fabric - linen
Linen soft bodied purse with 2 short straps. Has embroidered W on the front with floral embroidery and cutwork design.
he inner section can be removed and it has a zipper closure and a fabric changepurse with old metal frame and pinch closure.
Condition - Fair condition. Body is in excellent, sound condition with no holes or tears. But the bag is very aged and dirty. The exterior could easily be cleaned
but the inner section has what feels like cardboard inside, so that cannot be cleaned.
