Product Description

1930s Yellow Floral Chiffon Dress, Big Bell Sleeves, Large 42 bust, some issues

ERA- This item is from the 1930s

MEASUREMENTS - The dress is 51 inches long, fits 42 inch bust with room, 40 inches at waist, 54 inches at hips

LABEL - none

FABRIC - rayon chiffon
CLEANING - Dry cleaned

Bold, dark yellow sheer rayon chiffon gown with flowers in shades of olive and blue with burgundy details. The dress has huge bell sleeves with sheer rayon netting and the chiffon appliqued onto it in stripes and floral patterns.
The gown is pullover style with no opening on the side. There is a keyhole on the back - that doesn't open either. Dress is unlined and it is very lightweight and it is sheer.

CONDITION - The gown is in good condition, but with some noticeable issues.
*There is a little blurring of the burgundy color under the arms (but no pit stains under the arms) and some burgundy blurring in a spot on the back of the hem.

*There are about 20 scattered holes on the skirt, 1/8 to 1/4 inch in size.
*One shoulder has 5 small 1/8 inch holes on the front and over the back of the shoulder, plus a 1/2 inch hole that needs to be addressed, it should be reinforced before wearing.
*Two 1/8 inch holes on the front of the other shoulder.
*There are 5 small wear holes under each arm 1/8 to 1/4 inch.
*There are about 12 holes in the netting on each of the sleeves, 1/4 to 1/2 inch in size.

The dress could be wearable with care, but I would patch/repair that hole on the back of the shoulder so that it doesn't spread.
