Dandelion Vintage - 1940s Clothing & Lingerie page 4 Close up #5 #40-669- 1940s Navy and White Rayon Dress - $85.00 Era - 1940s Measurements - Dress is 39 inches long, 15 inches across shoulders, fits 38 inch bust, 32 waist, 44 hips Label - Fabric - woven rayon with a slight creped texture Cleaning - Dry cleaned Lightweight navy and white print rayon dress with 3 plastic buttons with rhinestone centers on the bodice. Shoulder pads with pleat of fabric down the front od bodice from each. Several pleats in the front-center of the skirt and pockets with angled-folded edges. Metal side zipper, unlined, no belt. Condition - Excellent condition - 1 rhinestone missing from button. Dress was probably shortened. More Photos #40-670- 1940s Dark Blue Crepe Dress with Pleated Waist - $80.00 Era - 1940s Measurements - 43 inches long, 15 across shoulders, 19 inch sleeves, fits 35 inch bust, 27 waist, 37 hips. Label - none Fabric - rayon crepe Cleaning - Dry cleaned Dark shade of blue in creped rayon. V-neck has gathers of fabric down the bodice. 3/4 length sleeves with angled bottom edge and shoulder pads. The waist has a wide section of horizonal pleats and a bow. Gored a-line skirt. Metal side zipper, unlined. Condition - The dress is in very good condition, very wearable. The color is a little uneven on the sleeves, which you could shorten. Pinkish mark under the fronts of both arms. Close up #5 \ Close up #6 #40-671- 1940s Black Rayon Crepe Over-Dress - $60.00 Era - 1940s Measurements - 41 inches long, 14 inches across shoulders, 20 inch long sleeves, fits 36 inch bust, 34 waist, 42 hips. If you want to overlap it so that the front of the skirt is also overlapped it would be 30 inches at the waist, 39 inches at hips. This gives you about a 3 inch overlap on waist and front of skirt. Label - none Fabric - creped rayon Cleaning - Dry cleaned This black crepe dress was meant to be worn over another dress. The front is basically open except for a singly hook-n-eye at the front of the waist. I also show it overlapped and pinned for a differnt look - but that only gives you about a 3 inch overlap on the skirt so you'd need to secure it or still wear something under it. Has 3/4 length sleeves with slight puffs in the shoulders. Unlined, loops for belt but belt is missing. Pin is not included. Condition - Excellent condition, no flaws seen. More photos #-672- 1940s Green Leaf Print Rayon Dress - $60.00 Era - 1940s Measurements - Dress is 39 inches long, 14 inches across shoulders, fits 36 inch bust, 32 waist, 39 hips Label - Caldwell Casual Fabric - cold rayon Cleaning - Dry cleaned Dark green woven rayon dress with white leaves that have spots of blue and orange. Section of smocking on the front of each shoulder and clear glass buttons with loops down the bodice. Flat pleats open midway down the skirt, making the bottom slightly fuller. Lightweight, unlined, metal side zipper, no belt. Condition - Very good condition. There is a 1/3 inch hole on the front just to the left of the top button it has fabric under it from the button opening, so this hole isn't very noticeable. There is a 1/4 inch hole in the center of the back with a light brown 1 inch spot around it. Faint color bleed into the white along waist. Close up #5 \ Close up #6 #40-673- 1940s Grey and Pink Cotton Housedress - $48.00 Era - 1940s Measurements - Dress is 40 inches long, 15 inches across shoulders, fits 36 inch bust, 33 waist, 42 hips Label - none Fabric - cotton Cleaning - machine washed and dried. White cotton dress with pink and grey daisies and paisleys. There are 4 plastic buttons on the bodice - no side opening. Two small breast pockets that are pintucked and have white eyelet trim along their tops. Gored a-line skirt. Condition - Good condition. The colors are a bit dull from wash-n-wear. Has been repaired across the outside of the shoulder across the sleeve with lines of white topstitching. Still a very wearable dress. Close up #5 \ Close up #6 #40-674- Grey and Brown Chevron Striped Cotton Dress - $25.00 Era - late 1940s to early 50s Measurements - Dress is 49 inches long, 18 across shoulders, 16 inches from shoulder to waist. Fits 44 inch bust, 35 waist, 50 hips. Label - Wen-Diane Original Fabric - cotton Cleaning - Soaked in Biz twice overnight and machine washed and dried Cotton dress in grey, brown and white chevron stripes with a metal zipper midway down the front. Shoulder pads, belt loops and aline skirt, slightly longer length. Unlined. Condition - Fair condition, the upper-back of the dress is discolored in large light brown spots over most of it, which are hard to see in the photo but noticeable in person. Also light brown down the sleeves and in spots on the front of the bodice. Two darker brown 1+ inch spots on the front of the skirt. This dress has fancy silvertone metal buttons down thbodice and a metal side zipper. Seamless dolman sleeves with tapered ends and cuffs. The cuff, collar and the area above and below the waist are stitched with grid lines. Gored skirt is slightly fuller around the hem and a slightly longer length. Unlined, no belt. Condition - Excellent condition, no flaws seen. Jacket is 14 inches long, 16 inches across shoulders, fits 40 inch bust Label - none Fabric - sheer rayon mesh Cleaning - Dry cleaned Sheer black rayon mesh set. The cropped jacket has an open front and half sleeves. The dress has small shoulder pads, pleats on the front od the shoulders and white piping along the neckline. Gored unlined skirt, matching belt and metal side zipper. Both pieces are unlined and sheer. Shown with slip under the dress which is not included. Condition - Very good to excellent condition.
