Most of the items are all in good condition but please read the descriptions carefully for listed flaws. I cannot guarantee the wearability of older garments like these. Era - early 1900s Measurements - 31 inches long, fits 24 to 26 inch waist Fabric - cotton Thin woven cotton skirt apron that ties on a small waist. Blue and white tiny gingham. Condition - Good condition. Blue has allover fading. There are some scattered brown age spot. Some thinning of the fabric from wear in areas. Era - 1880 Measurements - 38 inches long, fits 38 inch bust, free waist and hips, 86 inches around hem Label - none Fabric - cotton Cleaning - Has been soaked in Biz and a little bleach, hung to dry. White cotton nightgown with glass button opening on both shoulders. Cut wide and loose fitting through the body. Has pleats and embroidered flowers and eyelet work on the front of neck. Handmade eyelet around neck and arms too. Someone has written 'M.A. Jeffrey 1880' on the side under arm. Condition - Very good condition. Nice and bright white. There is a 1/4 inch hole on the upper back. Previous wear has ironed in a 5x2 inch patch under several 1/4 inch holes on the front side, under the arm, under the aignature. #VIC-280- Black Silk and Rayon Petticoat - $24.00
Era - 1900s Measurements - 31 inches long, fits 25 inch waist, full hips, 82 inches around hem Label - none Fabric - silk and rayon Cleaning - I have not tried to clean this Black silk taffeta petticoat. Actually there are 3 different types of fabric on this petticoat. The main body is one weight of silk taffeta, the ruffle around the bottom is a lighter weight of silk taffeta. The panel down the back is made of diagonal sections of a woven rayon. The waistband is the same rayon. Opening on the back. Condition - Good condition. The main body only has some light spots on the front. The lighter weight silk ruffle around the bottom has mainly tiny scattered holes in it and several tears along the bottom edge. It looks like the slip was altered at some point and trim or a pleat removed around the top section because tiny stitch lines/holes have been left behind. #VIC-281- Black Wool Swimming Skirt - $24.00
Era - 1900s Measurements - 24 inches long, fits 25 inch waist, 41 inch hips Label - none Fabric - lightweight woven wool Cleaning - Has not been cleaned Lightweight wool skirt with white cotton trim. It appears to be the skirt from an early 1900s swimsuit. Condition - Good condition. There are at least 10 scattered holes in the wool, from 1/4 to 1 inch in size. Era - early 1900s Measurements - 39 inches long, 22 inch waist, 46 wide at hips Label - none Fabric - linen Cleaning - Has been soaked in Biz with a bit of bleach Lightly off white, linen skirt with hold down the back. Fuller around bottom. Hook closure on the back of waist. There are 3 odd, slightly crooked sewn lines, horizonal from the fold down the center of the skirt. Unlined. Condition - Very good condition. Lightly off white from age. Some scattered pin head and smaller holes. Missing hoks along closure. There are at least 30 grey speckled spots down the back of the skirt - they did not come out in the soaking. Most are 1/8 inch or smaller, a few are 1/4 inch and 2 are narrow 1 inch lines. Era - late 1800s to early 1900s Measurements - 40 inches long in front, 48 long in back. 23 inch waist, 42 wide at hips Label - none Fabric - cotton twill Cleaning - Has been soaked in Biz Midweight cotton twil skirt in white with black polka dots. Longer in the back with two folds. 3 rows of white cotton trims around bottom of skirt with white edging on the fold of the skirt that looks like it was added at a later date (this piece was used in a theater) Heavy metal hooks on the back of the waist. Unlined. Condition - Good condition. Off white from age and the polka dots are lightly faded. There are rust marks around the hooks on the back of the waist along with wear to the fabric around the hook area too. 1/4 inch brown age spot on tummy and a few other smaller brown age spots scattered over skirt. Era - Teens Measurements - 50 inches long, fits 34 inch bust, 48 wide at hips Label - Fabric - creped silk Cleaning - This item has not been cleaned due to it's age. Long ivory creped silk robe with 2 hook closure and tie waist. Has ruffles over shoulders. Fitted sleeves. Unlined. Condition - Fair condition. Loops for top button is broken and half hooks missing. Allover aging with many scattered holes and clusters of pin-dot holes, and dark brown age spots #VL-20- Duchesse Lace Scarf w/Provenance - $40.00
Era - 1800s Measurements - 5-1/2 inches wide, 62 inches long Label - none Fabric - hand made Duchesse lace Very nice Victorian scarf or lappet made of a fine tulle with floral lace deisng on each end. This piece comes with a card that says on one side - 'Real Duchess Lace from Father's cousin Clara Peart, Danvers Mass. 1830-1900' and on the other side - 'Hong Jong Lace Grandmother Phelp's brother Captain Rankin of Thomaston Maine, a sea captain, brought this from China' Condition - Very good to excellent condition. Allover light aging with dark brown aging in areas. This item has not been washed. #VL-21- Thread Lace Scarf w/Provenance - $40.00
Era - late 1800s to early 1900s Measurements - 10-1/2 inches wide, 48 inches long Label - none Fabric - cotton Handmade scarf of a fine sheer cotton. It has very pretty lacey edges. Each end has a section of pleated cotton, surrounded by lace. Comes with card that says 'Real Thread Lace. Belonged to Aunt Minnie Harriet Edwina Phelps 1840-1916' Condition - Very good condition. There is a 1/8 inch hole in the cotton with a few tiny pin dot holes and stress marks in the fine weave of the cotton. Lace is excellent. Whole piece is aged. This item has not been washed. Era - Teens Measurements - 52 inches long, fits 32 inch bust, 23 waist Label - none Fabric - sheer crepe, cotton lace, rayon netting Cleaning - This dress has not been cleaned because of the crepe fabric Fabulous early 1900s gown in a sheer ivory crepe, maybe rayon. The front and back panel, the sleeves and the top layer of skirt are the sheer crepe. Under the bodice is a rayon mesh on the front and down the sides. The under skirt is also mesh with the crepe around the bottom. It has thick lace on the front and back of the bodice, on the ends of the sleeves, down the sides of the skirt and around the bottom. It also has a ton of decorative crochet balls on sleeves, bodice and hem of the upper skirt. It closes with hooks down the back and the lace panel hook on the side. Condition - Very good condition. There is a 3 inch hole under the arm in the mesh lining and a few other small holes also in the mesh. Two 1/4 inch holes in the mesh underskirt. A few faint, small age spots. A 1/4 inch hole on the top of one sleeve. Very faint rings under arms. Looks like there is a crochet ball missing from the bodice and one from the hem.
