Large Vintage Hornback Alligator Purse with Etched Frame, some issues, Edwardian 1920s

ERA: True vintage item from the 1900s to 1920s
MEASUREMENTS: The purse is about 9-1/2 to 13 inches wide and 10-1/2 inches long, plus strap/handle
MATERIAL: alligator
LABEL: none
Amazing, hornback alligator skin, large purse with raised ridges down the center on the front and the back. Two shades of brown, goldtone metal frame with floral etching on the front and the top. Alligator strap, ivory silk lining.

CONDITION: The purse is in good condition with signs of wear. The main issue is that the leather strap is split on the top in the alligator skin - the plain leather backing is holding it together. There are 5 other spots on the strap where the leather is bent and starting to split. Wear at the base of each side of the strap with a split starting on one side. The purse body has wear around the bottom edges on the sides with a 1 inch split at the bottom on one side. The raised ridges have wear on their ends on the bottom and on the back of the purse. Wear down the sides and top edges of the purse. The lining is aged and dirty. The gold frame is tarnished.
