Aged cotton organdy bodice and skirt wedding dress from the early 1900s. The bodice has gathered long sleeves with puffed shoulders and gathered fabric that sticks out over the shoulders, trimmed in lace. Gathered rows of organdy trimmed with lace and ribbon down the front of the puffed bodice. The bodice has hidden hooks down the back with more rows of ruffles and lace. Lined in cotton with boning for shaping.
The long skirt is slightly longer in the back. Hooks on the back opening, ruffles around the center and narrow pleats around the bottom. Lined in cotton with box pleats around the hem of the lining.
CONDITION: The set is in good to very good condition. All yellowed ivory from age, it was probably once white. I haven't tried to clean it. There are also some spots and areas of light brown aging on the organdy and the cotton lining. The ribbon around the top of the collar is frayed along the top edges. There are several tears around the bottom of the organdy layer of the skirt that are 3-4 inches, and scattered small holes.
.
Priced to reflect the damage. In excellent condition the price would have been $450.00
