Long Black Velvet 1930s Gown, DAMAGED, 34 bust Evening Dress

ERA: True vintage item from the early 1930s
MEASUREMENTS: the item is 52 inches long, it will fit a 34 inch bust with room, 34 inch waist, 37 inches around hips. Shoulders are 14 inches wide
MATERIAL: rayon velvet
LABEL: none
Bias cut black rayon velvet gown. Pullover style with no openings, no seam at waist. Fluttery sleeves with split on the underside. Slight drape of fabric at the neck. Unlined. The belt in the photos is not included.

CONDITION: Fair condition. There is a 2 inch hole near the hem. This hole has a large patch piece of fabric on the inside, but the patch has come loose. There are several other holes around the hem, probably from getting caught on shoe when walking. Those holes also have patches ironed in place on the inside. These are later repairs from when this dress was used in fashion shows for an auto club. The patches are stiff. There are several other small scattered holes and flat spots in the velvet. You could always shorten the gown to get rid of those larger holes.
