Antique Victorian Mourning Hat Black Straw with Veil and Chiffon, issues

MEASUREMENTS: The hat will fit a 21 inch head, will need a pin to secure
MATERIAL: straw, silk chiffon and satin, cotton lining

Black straw bonnet with downward brim around the front and the sides, no brim on the back of the neck. Silk chiffon flowers across the front with grosgrain ribbon. More ribbon on the top at the back. Sheer black silk, fine mesh veil with ribbon edge is attached to the hat. Partial brown cotton lining.

CONDITION: The hat is in good condition. The black is lightly faded from age, there is a 1/4 inch break in the straw on the top. A section of ribbon and bow are loose on the front.

The veil is in poor condition with many tears and splits over it. Along the front below the straw the mesh is split all across there. Holes and tears over the veil. The back edges of the veil are cut and fraying. It looks like the veil was added at a later time.
