Vintage 1920s Burnt Orange Silk Dress, damages and repairs, 38 bust

ERA: True vintage item from the 1920s
MEASUREMENTS: the item is 43 inches long, it will fit a 38 inch bust with room, 40 inch waist, 44 inches around hips. Shoulders are 15 inches wide and sleeves are 24 inches long
MATERIAL: silk crepe
LABEL: none
Burnt orange silk crepe pullover dress, no side opening. Shirring at the front of the neck, fabric covered buttons down the front, dropped waist and curved seams on the skirt. The long sleeves are tapered at the ends with snap closures and decorative fabric covered buttons. There are 2 fabric ties that hang on the back of the neck. The dress is unlined. There are two original store tags attached at neck and sleeve.

CONDITION: Fair condition. The shoulder fabric has several splits in the silk. The inside of the shoulders where patched with fabric to stabilize the tears so that the dress could be worn. But the silk is continuing to split on the outside. The splitting is spreading to the shoulder seams at the top of the sleeves. This area on both shoulders and sleeves would need to be address inside and out to make the dress sturdy enough for display. The rest of the dress seams sturdy.
