Vintage Boy's Green Wool Newsboy Cap, Lined Ear Flaps, 1920s or earlier, by Diamond NY, 20in head

Dark green wool newsboy cap with light pinstripes. Stiff brim with hidden snap. Seamed top with fabric covered button. Lined in a rich blue cotton fabric, stamped with the maker's logo. There is a fold down flap inside that covers the ears and around the back of the head. Lined in super soft silk velvet

CONDITION: The hat is in very good condition. It looks like it was barely worn, if ever worn at all. The lining is pristine and that silk velvet inside of the ear flaps is too.
But the outside of the hat has fade, the front of the hat and the brim are faded. There are also scattered tiny holes in the wool including one on the front seam, some on the brim and around the side and back of the brim. Maybe about 12 holes in total, the holes are under 1/8 inch.
