Vintage 1930s Boy's Wool Shirt & Shorts with Belt, Button Set, damaged
ERA: True vintage item from the 1920s to 1930s
MEASUREMENTS: Full length with shirt and shorts attached is 27 inches long. The shirt is 12 inches across the shoulders, 14 inches across the chest laying flat
The shorts are 15 inches long, 7 inch rise, 12-1/2 inches wide across the waist, laying flat
MATERIAL: thick wool
LABEL: paper label 'Age 8'
CLEANING: as found, they have not been washed
Thick wool dark blue and red plaid shirt with white mother of pearl buttons down the front. Flap pockets also have buttons Small dark buttons on the ends of the sleeves. Mother of pearl buttons around the bottom of the shirt for the shorts to button on to. The brown wool shorts have side openings and can only be worn buttoned to the shirt, they cannot be worn or their own. Two front pockets, no back pocket. They have belt loops with a cool blue and red stripe belt that has a silver tone metal buckles. The shorts have a full cotton lining, the shirt is unlined. Both pieces still have paper tags attached.
CONDITION: The set may be unworn but both pieces have damage. The shorts have a 1-1/2 inch hole on the front with many smaller scattered holes around it. The wool on the front of the shirt is worn and fraying in areas and under the collar. Surface wear to the wool down the tops of the sleeves and on the back of both pieces. Small scattered holes. 1+ inch hole on the end of the sleeve.
Some fine fibers come off of the pants when handling.
